Newcastle is situated in the North East of the UK and is in the traditional county of Northumberland, however now days the area is known as the Tyne and Wear. Other main routes include the A19 which head out to Sunderland, Middlesbrough, York and Doncaster plus the A69 which heads to Carlisle. Newcastle being a coastal town also has a ferry port which has links to Holland (Amsterdam), Sweden (Gothenburg) amongst other destinations local and abroad.

Newcastle is famous for its sporting history and love of their football heroes in the Black and White…Newcastle United and St James Park. Football is however not the only sport that can be enjoyed, there is also a top flight Rugby Union Team called the Newcastle Falcons. Amongst other sports are Ice Hockey (Newcastle Vipers), Basketball (Newcastle Eagles) and Speedway (Newcaslte Diamonds).
