Sorting through the post that Rentright receive by the bucket load on a daily basis and came across a new property publication called Estate Agency Times. Rentright being a dedicated rental property portal so I decided to skim past the estate agency pages, the HIPS pages, the feature section , finance area, technology section, employment section and then to my joy came across the Lettings pages.
I spent the next 20 minutes or so reading through the various articles and features of which I must say the 3 pages dedicated to lettings were short but sweet. I read an interesting article on the demand of rental properties is at its highest ever level, which according to the article is an 8% increase from the proportion of landlords that reported demand is up. As we are all aware the increase in the interest rates as always acts as a catalyst as the mortgage rates increase.
Another interesting article was the one that informs us there is to be the first ever BTEC Qualification being launched for the letting and management sector which is the guild of letting and management. It will be interesting to follow how popular this course is and the uptake of newly freshly qualified letting agents that hit the market place. According to the article the course will cover everything from the initial vetting of the tenants, contracts , inventory procedures and keeping up to date on all the relevant paperwork.
It was interesting that one article about the Landlords being hit with more legislation was printed twice, once on the back page and once on the inside page, It can only be assumed that this was a highly important article. It will be interesting to see how the newspaper fairs amongst the competition, namely Estate Agency News which has been established for a long while and the more hip and trendy SQM magazine..........time will tell.
